Microservices have many advantages: separation of concerns, running what language makes sense for the problem, loose coupling between various parts... but configuration and deployment are not among them.  At Rubin we use a software called argocd to help manage the running of our microservices, which allows us to keep our configuration stored in git with all the goodness that gitops provides.
